Marcelo was born in Peru but spent most of his life in Chicago. Ever since he was little he found himself dancing with his family at all events and gatherings! At the age of ten he performed 3 Peruvian folklore dances in the Peruvian Parade of Chicago, and in high school he participated in the International Performance event where he got to show off his authentic Latin movements. When Marcelo entered University he joined a dance group of various styles which included ballroom-one of his favorites! He quickly rose to vice-president of the group, teaching and choreographing dances. With accomplishing so much he comes to Fred Astaire with a deep understanding of dancing. He is thrilled to be part of the team and welcomes all types of hugs!
Rafael is Mexican and Puerto Rican, but was raised in Chicago. His passion for dance started at a really young age and he took his first Salsa class when he was about ten years old. He fell in love with it right away. His passion for the art of dance continued to grow and develop over the years. Because of his rich Hispanic heritage he has been surrounded by Latin dancing almost his entire life, and has been doing theater for eight years. He now comes to our studio with a vast knowledge of Latin dancing as well as a minor in Musical Theater. He feels blessed to be working with an amazing team here in Park Ridge.
Sally was born and raised in Chicago Illinois. She discovered her love for dance at a young age. Her background includes jazz, ballet, tap, modern and hip hop. Growing up in a household with one of her parents being Hispanic, has had a huge influence on her taste in music. Although she enjoys all genres of music she has always been drawn to Latin Rhythm.
Sally attended St. Norbert College in De Per, Wisconsin receiving a BA in Early Childhood Education. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Elementary Education with a Focus in Reading Instruction. Sally is very excited to be a part of the Fred Astaire Park Ridge Team and is eager to embark into the glamorous world of ballroom dancing! She looks forward to to meeting new people and instill a passion for dance in all of her students.
Suzanne’s path to dancing started when she learned to ice skate, as all born-and-bred Minnesotans must do. She gave figure skating a try for a few years, but after one too many hard falls on the cold ice, her parents suggested Ballroom and Latin dance, and she knew right away this was it. Through over a decade of dancing in social, competition and performance settings, the ballroom floor has felt like home, and Suzanne wants nothing more than for her students to feel that way too. The team at Fred Astaire Park Ridge knows that ballroom dancing enriches life in so many ways, and Suzanne is thrilled to join them in sharing those riches.

Hannah was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. She moved with her family to the United States at the age of 12. Even at a young age Hannah was bouncing around the living room and choreographing dance routines to show off to the family. Her love of dancing took actual form when she became a student of Fred Astaire Studios in Buffalo Grove and quickly showed the skill and ambition to become a professional instructor. Hannah was hired at the Fred Astaire Chicago Downtown location where she spent 5 years as an instructor before opening up her own studio in Park Ridge with her husband Adrian. Hannah loves sharing the “light-bulb” moment with her students, when a new piece of dance knowledge clicks and they feel success. Her other passion is traveling and competing with her husband Adrian and they are proud to represent Fred Astaire Illinois.
